Info about materials and selections:
Pla is great for 3D printing because it melts at a lower temperature. Pla is not great in hot and humid climates because of this. If you were to leave a PLA print in a car on a hot day, it will most likely deform. If you need a more durable material, you will not want PLA.
ABS/ASA are tougher plastics that can withstand a bit more torture from heat and impact. They are not as easy to print and may end up with a few defects. These are usually not a big deal to most people.
Resin prints will be a very smooth print with precise details. I make really good quality plastic prints, but if you want the best quality prints, go with resin. There will be little to no layer lines. They also have a more substantial weight to them.
The model shown here is not an actual print, but a virtual render.
Why by from me?
I don't mess around with cheap materials. Consistency and dependability are extremely important. I have learned over the years how much of a waste it is to attempt to cheap out on things. The resin we use is made specifically for tabletop use. A lot of resins are very brittle. They will shatter from a drop or wear away with just light friction. That friction leaves a powder behind that is not only unsightly, but very toxic. I only use industrial grade tough resins.
Color accuracy is also important for me as a photographer and graphic designer.
This is why I list color codes with my swatch photo (which was taken with professional equipment)
